Warts, skin tags, and keratoses

Need to remove an intruder from your skin?

The Accès Infirmières team treats all unwanted growths, whether cosmetic or bothersome, in a quick and friendly environment. Each case is assessed and, if necessary, referred to a dermatologist who is a partner of the clinic or part of the public network for more complex situations or those requiring more advanced expertise.

Do I need a prescription from my doctor?

Skin tags and keratosis
The treatment of skin tags and keratosis requires a medical prescription. However, we have a partner clinic where you can make an appointment with a doctor to obtain a prescription via telemedicine.

Warts
No prescription is required for the treatment of warts.

What does nitrogen treatment involve?

Nitrogen treatment effectively burns away warts and removes unsightly skin tags.

It is best to consult us if you want to remove a wart, skin tag, or keratosis. The evaluation is free if you mention it when making your appointment.

This treatment is not painful but may leave scars and usually requires more than one treatment.

Please do not attempt this yourself!

You risk making your situation worse.

Warts

Warts appear as small, rough, well-defined bumps on the skin. Small black dots can be seen in the center of the warts.

In general, warts do not cause any particular discomfort. They are more of a nuisance because of their appearance. However, they can sometimes cause pain, especially plantar warts or those located on the fingertips. They can resemble corns, but should not be confused with them.

Warts are contagious and can spread quickly. It is therefore possible that
several warts may appear. Prompt treatment as soon as they appear will help them disappear more quickly and prevent the risk of spreading.

How can you prevent warts from spreading?

  • Avoid touching or scratching the wart.
  • Keep the wart covered with a bandage.
  • Never touch someone else's wart.
  • If you touch a wart, wash your hands immediately.
  • Avoid sharing personal items

Such as socks, bath towels, beach towels, nail files, etc.

  • In the case of a plantar wart, avoid walking barefoot, keep your feet dry, and wear cotton socks, changing them every day.
