Treatment of urinary tract infection
Need to confirm a urinary tract infection and get treatment if you have one?
The Accès Infirmières team assists clients with a physical and urinary assessment to confirm or rule out the presence of this infection. If the assessment is positive, a prescription for antibiotics is issued and sent directly to the client's pharmacy so that the prescription can be filled. The entire process is quick and painless.

Dysuria | Difficulty urinating
Pollakiuria | More frequent urination than usual
Hematuria | Blood in urine or on toilet paper
Urinary urgency | Urgent need to urinate

Persistent urge to urinate
Continuous urge to urinate after urination
Advice and treatment
Relieve your symptoms and treat yourself
Urinary tract infections are usually easily treated with antibiotics. Symptoms often improve within the first 24 hours. Even if the symptoms disappear, it is important to complete the prescribed treatment.
While waiting for the infection to clear up, here are some ways to relieve the symptoms:
- Drink plenty of water
- Drink cranberry juice or eat cranberries.
Don't wait until the situation gets worse!
Consult the Accès Infirmières team as soon as symptoms appear.
