Vaccination

Pneumonia

Are you in good health?
This vaccine is still recommended for you. Every year, healthy people are hospitalized with pneumonia. These people say they thought they were going to die. Getting this vaccine means taking your health seriously.

Pneumonia occurs throughout the year, but is most common in winter and spring.

There are two (2) types of vaccines for adults

  1. Pneu-C | Prevnar 20® or Synflorix®
  2. Pneu-P | Pneumovax 23®

Pneu-C | Prevnar 20® or Synflorix®

The Prevnar® or Synflorix® vaccine is offered free of charge by public health authorities to a group of people with certain health conditions. Only one dose is needed in a lifetime.

Pneu-P | Pneumovax 23®

The Pneumovax® vaccine is recommended starting at age 65.
It is given only once in a lifetime, except for people with serious health problems. In this case, a single booster shot after five (5) years is recommended. Our nurse can tell you if a booster shot is necessary for you. The Pneumovax vaccine is offered free of charge by public health authorities.
