Every year, healthy people are hospitalized with pneumonia. These people say they thought they were going to die. Getting this vaccine means taking your health seriously.   <\/p>\n<p>Pneumonia occurs throughout the year, but is most common in winter and spring.<\/p>\n<p><strong>There are two (2) types of vaccines for adults<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Pneu-C | Prevnar 20\u00ae or Synflorix\u00ae<\/li>\n<li>Pneu-P | Pneumovax 23\u00ae<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\t\t\t<h4>Pneu-C | Prevnar 20\u00ae or Synflorix\u00ae<\/h4>\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<p>The Prevnar\u00ae or Synflorix\u00ae vaccine is offered free of charge by public health authorities to a group of people with certain health conditions. Only one dose is needed in a lifetime. <\/p>\n\t\t\t<h4>Pneu-P | Pneumovax 23\u00ae<\/h4>\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<p><strong>The Pneumovax\u00ae vaccine is recommended starting at age 65.<\/strong><br \/>It is given only once in a lifetime, except for people with serious health problems. In this case, a single booster shot after five (5) years is recommended. Our nurse can tell you if a booster shot is necessary for you.
