Symptoms usually begin 2 to 8 days after exposure to the virus. Although RSV usually causes a mild illness, some people infected with RSV require hospitalization and, very rarely, admission to an intensive care unit.  <\/p>\n<p><strong>There are two (2) types of vaccines for adults<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Arexvy\u00ae<\/li>\n<li>Abrysvo\u00ae<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\t\t\t<h4>Abrysvo\u00ae<\/h4>\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<p>The efficacy of Abrysvo\u00ae against hospitalizations due to RSV in infants whose mothers were immunized during pregnancy was 67.7% during the first three months of life, with efficacy decreasing thereafter. If the vaccine is received after 36 weeks of pregnancy, the efficacy will be lower in protecting the infant. <\/p>\n<p>The efficacy of Abrysvo\u00ae against diseases caused by RSV in people aged 60 years and older was 66.7% against first episodes with two or more symptoms and 85.7% against first episodes with three or more symptoms.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<h3>The target audience<\/h3>\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<p>Adults aged 60 and over<\/p>\n<p><strong>Abrysvo\u00ae<\/strong><br \/>Pregnant women between the 32nd and 36th week of pregnancy, with the Abrysvo\u00ae vaccine regardless of the RSV season.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/clixibook.ca\/hub\/accesinfirmieres\" title=\"Click Here\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"  role=\"button\" aria-label=\"Make an appointment\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tMake an appointment\n\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t<h3>Symptoms<\/h3>\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<ul>\n<li>Runny nose<\/li>\n<li>Cough<\/li>\n<li>Sneezing<\/li>\n<li>Wheezing<\/li>\n<li>Fever<\/li>\n<li>Loss of appetite<\/li>\n<li>Decreased energy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>In infants*<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Irritability<\/li>\n<li>Difficulty breathing<\/li>\n<li>Loss of appetite or decreased eating<\/li>\n<li>Decrease in activity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t<h3>Complications<\/h3>\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<p>VRS can occasionally cause a serious lower respiratory tract infection that requires hospital treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Some people are more likely to develop serious illness caused by RSV, especially:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Infants<\/li>\n<li>Adults aged 65 and over<\/li>\n<li>Immunocompromised people<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t<h3>Prevention<\/h3>\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<ul>\n<li>Vaccination<\/li>\n<li>Isolation<\/li>\n<li>Health measures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t<p><em>*By the age of 2, most children will have been infected with RSV. This virus is a common cause of bronchiolitis and pneumonia in infants and young children.
